The surgical strike film

As Anupama Chopra rightly said, there is a very thin line between 'patriotism' and 'jingoism'. And, the first Indian film of this year definitely does not fall into the trap of latter. She also raised many eyebrows when she reviewed the film. But, no matter what a critic says, the debutante director, Aditya Dhar has brought out a film with a right mix of patriotism, emotion and technicality.  As I shared before, I was not willing to watch 'URI :The Surgical Strike' in theater, but, my friend pushed me for which I will be grateful forever. Now, I am one of those who could not get enough of it the first time. While watching it for the second time, I was enjoying the reactions of people who had not seen it before. I could see how genuinely people felt for the scenes.

I have a habit of digging into things that catch my attention. Upon looking, I learnt that Aditya had signed Fawad khan for his first movie back in 2016. After the URI attacks in Kashmir, when artists were not allowed anymore from Pakistan, Aditya got curious. He started following the reason for shut down and that very thing became the string for his next celluloid story. That I call a victory in itself; turning your wounds into gold. With a good cast, excellent screenplay and phenomenal background score, the movie has made us all proud. Not forgetting, URI has given us the first-ever dialogue from a war movie that is used by Honorable Prime Minister of India and our men in blue along with million other Indians.

What I learnt from the Aditya is, no matter where you come from or when you start, if you believe, you can always succeed. Of course, the movie had a message of it's own which is equally received. Let's hope to see more of intelligent cinema in Bollywood.

For all the men at border,
Prerana
