What do you say to yourself?

What do you say to yourself in your head? I’m not talking about what you comment on some incident or what do you think of someone else. I am asking you what you think about yourself .  We may say many things about us to others ‘jokingly’ or add ‘just kidding’ after a sentence. But, were you really? Deep down what speak comes from what we feel. Also, did you ever notice that what we speak is recorded in our minds forever? I was one of those who was fighting having a lower self image for sometime. At that time, we are those who do not think we deserve much or value ourselves  very highly. I even felt I should stay away from people in case I might get too attached and they start expecting things that I was sure I was incapable to live upto. After some help from books and family, I saw the root of it all. I was low on self confidence. From then, I have come across several individuals fighting the same battle.
Confidence cannot be given by anyone to you. Of course, people can inspire you but they can never generate the strength unless you decide to act upon it. When low on confidence, they are not comfortable under their own skin. Even more painful is to see when people pretend to shut their insecurity acting too cool.  They don’t even address the problem upfront or seek help. It becomes an issue when it starts affecting your life miserably. And, it’s all in your head. Like your body, you need to feed your mind with building personality talks and books. It’s vital we maintain our personality. It’s your bloody life! You got to control it. First step is STOP degrading yourself when you talk to yourself. You are a wonderful human who is capable of doing what you truly desire. Even in jokes, maintain your posture. Learn not to entertain anything that is not inclined with your values. Your self talk has power to change your life! Use it. Rewind it. Talk it. Live it.

Wishing you a confident you,
Prerana
